Role Description

Node JS Developer

Lead II - Software Engineering

You Are

UST is searching for a Node JS Developer with strong knowledge of front‑end performance optimization and responsive design.

The Opportunity

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of modern web applications using Node.js and React.
  
  
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross‑functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver high‑quality solutions.
  
  
• Drive best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and DevOps.
  
  
• Mentor and guide a team of engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical leadership.
  
  
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
  
  
• Stay current with emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to complex problems.
  
  
• Contribute to strategic planning, technical roadmaps, and architectural decisions.
  
  
• Ensure adherence to software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  
  

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position.

Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What You Need

• 8-10 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on Node.js and React.
  
  
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Oracle or RDBMS, and microservices architecture.
  
  
• Proficiency in modern development tools and practices (Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines).
  
  
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  
  
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  
  
• Experience with serverless architectures and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
  
  
• Familiarity with testing frameworks React Testing Library.
  
  
• Exposure to database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
  
  

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience.

UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

$104,000-$130,000

Benefits

Full‑time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro‑rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty.

They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company‑paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

Full‑time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro‑rated for new hires throughout the year).

Part‑time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro‑rated for new hires throughout the year).

All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
